Canada Day isn’t actually Canadian Independence Day. This day marks the historic event when the three separate colonies of the north united; Canada, Nova Scotia, and New Brunswick formed into a single Dominion within British Empire. The Constitution Act, 1867 (then known as the British North America Act, 1867) was officially signed into law on July 1, 1867. On this day, Canada was born, buddy! That’s 150 years of hockey puckin’, soary sayin’, syrup-suckin’ good times!
