The Nashville Predators got off to a fantastic start in their best-of-seven series against the St. Louis Blues, picking up a huge 4-3 road win in Game 1. The Predators jumped out to 2-0 and 3-1 leads, but St. Louis would not go down without a fight.
Down 3-1 at the start of the third period, Jaden Schwartz and Vladimir Sobotka tied the game at 3-3 with goals at the 6:48 and 9:22 marks, respectively. But unfortunately for the Blues’ raucous home crowd, a thrilling comeback victory was not in the cards for St. Louis. With roughly four minutes left in the game, Vernon Fiddler lit the lamp for the Predators.

Fiddler was an unlikely hero for the Preds, as it was his first goal of the postseason and his first playoff goal for Nashville since April 20, 2007. Better late than never!
