2011 – 2013

Sherman was drafted out of Stanford in the fifth round by the Seattle Seahawks. As a mid-late round draft pick, he wasn’t entitled to the big money deals that first-rounders received. Instead, Sherman, signed a four-year deal worth a total of $2.2 million which included a signing bonus of $182,424. However, Sherman would quickly outperform his meager contract.
Despite starting just 10 games as a rookie, he led all first-year players with 17 passes defended and four interceptions with 55 tackles. The following year, Sherman recorded eight interceptions with 24 passes defended to go along with three forced fumbles and 64 total tackles. He was considered the biggest 2012 NFL Pro Bowl snub, though he was named an All-Pro. Sherman would be named to the Pro Bowl the following year.
Thanks to his stellar first three seasons, the Seahawks soon realized they needed to lock the talented CB ip long-term.
2014 – Present

In advance of the 2014 season, Seattle signed Sherman to a four-year deal worth $57.4 million, which included $40 million in guaranteed money and an $11 million signing bonus. During this time, Sherman also signed lucrative endorsement deals with top brands such as T-Mobile, Nike, Oberto, BODYARMOR and Beats by Dre.
Despite being named an All-Pro that year and earning Pro Bowl honors every season since 2013, the Seahawks are reportedly looking to trade Sherman to help clear cap space for the future. As of now, Sherman has two years and roughly $26.83 million remaining on his contract.
2017-2018
