Westview High School Lockdown: Full Story & Must-See Details

Westview High School in Poway, California, is on lockdown following reports of a gun on campus, according to witnesses. Here are all the details currently available.

What Happened?

Police were on the scene, located on Camino Del Sur in San Diego, around 11:30 A.M. PT. As of now, there have been no confirmed reports of shots fired. The school was locked down “out of an abundance of caution,” officials said.

Police are said to have received a call Friday morning about a student who saw a classmate in the bathroom with what appeared to be a gun, according to a SDPD spokesperson. It’s possible that the gun is now in the student’s backpack as police continue to search.
UPDATE 3:56 P.M – Police have not found a gun but are continuing to search the school to be safe.
Officers and a K-9 unit are on the scene sweeping the school grounds. Parents have also arrived at the school.
