Police at the University of Mississippi say they are investigating a sexual assault that allegedly occurred at an on-campus fraternity house.
According to police, the assault took place at the Alpha Tau Omega fraternity house on Chapel Lane in Oxford, Mississippi around 11:00 P.M. Friday, March 24.
It is not known whether the suspect is a member of that specific fraternity, a regular student, or otherwise. Police said it occurred at a social function attended by many people, both Greek and non-Greek alike.
“I thought it was a rather frightening situation. It’s a really bad title to have especially on a college campus, it reflects very negatively of you,” said Joseph Kuchta, an Ole Miss student.
Police said that the victim went to the hospital following the assault and that ATO has been cooperating with their investigation of the crime.
Ole Miss Police say the suspect is described as a 6’3″ white man with a large build and dark, curly shoulder-length hair. He was wearing a red, collared Ole Miss shirt and khaki shorts at the time of the incident.
