On paper, (4) Florida taking on (5) Virginia in the East region looks like one of the toughest games to predict in the second round. But they started clicking on all cylinders in the second half, and they cruised to an 80-65 victory. Devin Robinson was the hero for the Gators, pouring in 24 points on 10-of-17 shooting from the floor.
Virginia pulled out a hard-fought win in their first round game, avoiding becoming the victim of a textbook 12-seed/5-seed upset. The Cavaliers topped (12) UNC Wilmington 76-71, bolstered by a monster game from London Perrantes. The senior guard scored 24 points on 9-of-14 shooting from the floor.
