Bradley Grinnen, a college football player at Waynesburg Univerity, was found dead inside his Pennsylvania dorm room on Saturday.
Grinnen, a 21-year-old junior defensive lineman, was pronounced dead in Willison Hall at 11:30 A.M. on Sunday by the Greene County Coroner. His sudden death was not ruled suspicious.
The deceased has been identified as Bradley Grinnen, a junior at Waynesburg University. According to the school’s newspaper Yellow Jacket, Grinnen was a defensive lineman on the football team and originally from Elwood City.
A vigil was held at 8:00 P.M. Sunday at Robert’s Chapel. Many were having a difficult time coming to terms with the loss.
“As of right now, I’m still in shock, I can’t really process it. Another friend messaged me this morning, told me about it, and I drove by his dorm and saw all the cop cars and ambulance,” teammate Hunter Palmer told KDKA’s Ralph Iannotti.
Waynesburg University released a statement about Grinnen’s death:
Our thoughts and prayers are with this student’s family and friends. On behalf of Waynesburg University, we would like to express our deepest sympathies. We are cooperating fully with the authorities who are investigating the situation. We have been assured that it is not a suspicious death, and there is no perceived threat to the public.
Local authorities say there is no threat to Waynesburg University or Waynesburg. No cause of death has been released at this time.
