WWE Royal Rumble 2017: Results, Live Updates & Highlights

The Royal Rumble is finally here! Goldberg and Brock Lesnar will lock horns once again. “The Demon of Death Valley” The Undertaker will return to the Alamodome to send chills down the spines of all in attendance. Who will win the 30-man Royal Rumble match? Could it be a legend? Could it be “the legend killer” Randy Orton? Or can it be an NXT stand-out like Samoa Joe or Shinsuke Nakamura?

John Cena will be looking to tie Ric Flair’s record tonight. He will face AJ Styles for the WWE World Championship. This match could go eitherway, but if Cena pins or submits Styles, then he’ll be a 16-time world champion. WOOOOOOOO!

Kevin Owens will put his WWE Universal Championship on the line against PWI’s “Most Hated Superstar Of The Year” Roman Reigns. Lulz. Meanwhile, Y2J will be hanging around in a shark tank high above the ring. This one should be boat loads of fun. And don’t forget Neville vs. Rich Swann in their upcoming cruiserweight encounter. Plus, we got the lovable Bayley facing off against the “ice queen” Charlotte Flair. Can Bayley finally achieve her dream and capture the WWE Raw Women’s Championship? Find out tonight!

30-Man Royal Rumble Match

Randy Orton wins the Royal Rumble match! He now qualifies for a world championship match at WrestleMania 33!

WWE World Championship match: AJ Styles (c) vs. John Cena

Wow. Just. Wow. John Cena has just tied the legendary “Nature Boy” Ric Flair, as a 16-time world champion.

WWE Cruiserweight Championship match: Rich Swann (c) vs. Neville

Hats off to both men. They both looked phenomenal in this contest. Swann really shined and kicked the sh*t out of Neville many times throughout the match. However, the momentum of Neville was way to much for Rich. And now, Neville is officially the King of the Cruiserweights.

No Disqualification match for the WWE Universal Championship: Kevin Owens (c) vs. Roman Reigns

Before the match could even start, Y2J and KO attacked Reigns. But Reigns would soon fire back, brutalize Jericho and lock him into the shark tank. Overall, this match was excellent when it comes to old-school hardcore brawls. Owens really dominated Reigns for most of this match. The crowd really popped when Owens hit the bullfrog splash to Reigns through a table. Owens was beating the crap out of Reigns with a steel chair. Owens started stacking chairs onto each others. It looks sick!

Owens is in control, and Reigns looks hurt. Despite his weakened condition, Reigns battles back. Jericho tosses KO brass knuckles from the shark tank. Owens nails Roman with the knuckles, but Super Reigns kicks out at 2. Kevin looks frustrated.

Reigns eventually gains control. He sends KO hurling through the stack of chairs he compiled earlier. Reigns then sends Owens through the announcers table, reminiscent of The Shield. Right when it looks like Roman is going to win the match and the title, Braun Strowman appears out of nowhere and demolishes Reigns. He drives Reigns into a table with a running powerslam. Owens capitalizes and goes for the pin.

WWE Raw Women’s Championship match: Charlotte Flair (c) vs. Bayley

Charlotte was in complete control for much of the match. She tossed Bayley back-and-forth around the ring early-on in the contest. But Bayley battled back! She hits a springboard crossbody and an epic elbow drop. The crowd was really pulling for Bayley. However, “The Queen” Charlotte is way too powerful to put down for long. Charlotte’s Figure Eight is a thing of beauty. She nails Bayley with the Natural Selection on the apron. Lights out for Bayley. 1, 2, 3. The Queen reigns supreme!

Sasha Banks vs. Nia Jax

Nia Jax dominated throughout almost every moment of this moment. Banks tried to fight back, but Nia is a total beast. She destroyed Sasha.

WWE Raw Tag Team Championship match: Cesaro & Sheamus (c) vs. Luke Gallows & Karl Anderson

This match a real slobber-knocker. If you like tag team brawls then this is the match for you. Sheamus was a bit sloppy, knocking out the ref and not having his head in the game. Gallows and Anderson killed the magic of Cesaro & Sheamus. Anderson rolled up Cesaro and grabbed the tights for the win.

Alexa Bliss, Mickie James & Natalya vs. Becky Lynch, Naomi & Nikki Bella

This match was originally slated for the pay per view, but recently got bumped down to the kickoff show. Natalya showed off her heel charisma in this match, taunting Bella with Cena’s “You Can’t See Me” hand gesture. Nattie dominates Becky, but then gets speared by Nikki as a measure of retribution. But Naomi stood out most of all. She performed a moon a split-legged moonsault on the champion Alexa Bliss for the victory.
