Just blocks from Times Square, three unidentified men pulled a multi-million dollar heist as the New Year’s Eve ball dropped. The heist took place at KGK Holdings jewelry wholesaler, located at 70 W. 36th St., in what police believe to be an inside job. “The safes were opened. They didn’t even have to pry,” the NYPD told New York Daily News.
Video released by the NYPD on Monday shows the thieves sneak into the sixth-floor offices of Gregg Ruth on W. 36th St. and Sixth Ave. around 10:00 P.M., as an estimated two million gathered in Times Square just a few blocks away.

They climbed the fire stairs to get inside, waited in a stairwell, and at midnight, they struck, possibly using the noise from the New Year’s celebration as cover, cop sources said.
The trio used a pry-bar and a hammer to get into the wholesaler’s offices, according to police. Once inside, they raided two safes, stealing gold and diamond rings, bracelets and necklaces
