While our country was busy electing an orange jackass last night, Marc Gasol came through with an awesome buzzer beater to lift the Memphis Grizzlies over the Denver Nuggets 108-107. With Memphis down 107-106 with seven-tenths of a second left on the clock, here’s how they pulled victory from the jaws of defeat.

That was absolutely flawless execution. Gasol is one of the most well-rounded centers in the NBA, and he showed you why right there. Being able to catch that pass cleanly and having the soft touch to hit a high-pressure shot is no easy task.
But I’d be remiss if I didn’t point out that Vince Carter delivered a beauty of a pass. If that pass isn’t right on the money, it’s game over for Memphis. He put that ball where only Gasol could make a play on it. Who the hell would have ever thought Vinsanity could morph into such a useful role player at the twilight of his career?
I also have to shout-out Grizzlies head coach David Fizdale for drawing up a gorgeous play. I feel like everyone in the arena knew an alley-oop was coming with such little time left on the clock, and Fizdale still found a way to make it work. I love it when a plan comes together.
