The Premier League 2016-2017 season kicked off a couple of weeks ago, and is now well underway. The biggest game of the weekend, the third of the EPL season, takes place today between Liverpool and Tottenham. Liverpool, now under the management of former Borussia Dortmund boss Jürgen Klopp, finished in 8th last season, which ties for their worst finish in a decade. They opened the season with a 4-3 victory over Arsenal, but lost 2-0 last week to Burnley. The Spurs, who opened their season tying Everton 1-1, are coming off a week two victory over Crystal Palace, winning 1-0.
The 2016–17 Premier League is the 25th season of the Premier League, the top English professional league for association football clubs, since its establishment in 1992. The season began August 13, 2016, and will last until May 21, 2017. Leicester City are the defending champions, with Burnley, Middlesbrough and Hull City being promoted from the Football League Championship. Rounding out the top four from last season, are Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur, and Manchester City.
