Old Dominion University (ODU) student Naqib Khpulwak has been named as one of the thirteen people killed in the awful attacks on the American University of Afghanistan (AUAF) earlier this week. According to ODU, Naqib was working as a college lecturer at the AUAF law department and was highly regarded within the school.
Naqib graduated from ODU, earning a masters degree along the way, and returned home to teach in Kabul.
Among the dead listed are seven students, a professor, two security guards, and three special forces officers who died after trying to reclaim the school from the militants.
No terrorist groups have claimed responsibility for the cowardly attack, but it’s believed that the plan was hatched in Pakistan. Recently the Taliban (the group most likely responsible) have been forced to wage their attacks from Pakistan after being ousted from Afghanistan.
