Oklahoma State Transfer Died Of Heat Exhaustion Yesterday

Tyrek Coger was looking forward to being a part of the Oklahoma State University basketball team and community, but unfortunately he passed away after collapsing from heat exhaustion on Thursday afternoon. The 21-year-old had just transferred from a junior college in Raleigh, North Carolina (Cape Fear Community College) and arrived on July 5th.
Our thoughts and prayers are with Tyrek’s family and friends.
Tyrek was a 6-8 forward who was supposed to help shore up the interior defense of a notably small OK State team. There’s a chance you might have even seen Tyrek play. In a fairly popular YouTube video of John Wall, a loud and eager high school player challenges Wall to a game of 1-on-1. Guess who it was? Tyrek.
