The 2016 WWE Draft, which will separate the WWE’s roster into the Raw and SmackDown brands, is taking place tonight. It should be a fascinating night that will go a long way toward shaping the future of WWE. The draft will be the main attraction for the first episode of SmackDown Live, which is finally being shown live at 8 p.m EST on Tuesdays on the USA Network after years of being shown on tape delay on Thursday nights.
At the helm of Raw Commissioner Stephanie McMahon and General Manager Mick Foley, and the regime in charge of SmackDown includes Commissioner Shane McMahon and General Manager Daniel Bryan. It’s the first brand split since the original one in 2002, and it should be compelling television to see where everybody ends up.
Also on the show is a title match between champion Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins, a rematch of their match last night on Monday Night Raw that ended in a controversial draw.
