University of Toronto Lockdown: Full Story & Must-See Details

Toronto police have closed off University of Toronto’s downtown campus after receiving two calls on Monday morning about suspicious activity, including a report of a man with a gun.
After of a suspicious person was reportedly spotted in the area Monday morning,  the University of Toronto was placed under campus emergency.
Toronto police received a call around 9 A.M. of a suspicious person with their face covered near a building under construction at the east end of the downtown campus. A second call came in moments later about a person being spotted with a gun. Authorities say the police tactical unit is on scene and conducting a search of the buildings under lockdown.


Update- 3:13 PM EST

University of Toronto buildings cleared and are being reopened. No suspect was located, Toronto Police say.


Update- 12:19 PM EST:

Police Chief Mark Saunders told reporters that the the suspect is wearing all black clothing, a black backpack, and a surgical mask.

The nearby Women’s College Hospital and Sickkids Hospital are also closed as a result of the police investigation.
