With all due respect to Rage Against The Machine’s Zack de la Rocha, this probably isn’t what he had in mind when he wrote the band’s 1996 hit “Bulls on Parade.”

A large cow broke loose Wednesday while being unloaded at the University of Illinois’ college of veterinary medicine. It then spent the next stretch of time running through campus, startling students and creating some viral social media moments.

Videos of the incident spread quickly online – students could be heard yelling and scrambling as the cow wandered through crowded areas of campus.

Cow Breaks Loose On University Of Illinois Campus

The University of Illinois was founded back in 1867 as the Illinois Industrial University, a land-grant school focused on agriculture. Those early students would’ve been much better prepared for this kind of situation than today’s campus population.

The cow didn’t cause any property damage or serious injuries before it was eventually corralled and brought back to the college of veterinary medicine.

“She sustained some superficial injuries during the incident, but it’s not expected that she’ll require additional treatment,” Patrick Wade, the school’s director of executive communications and issues management, told local station WCIA-TV. “Our priority is always the humane treatment and wellbeing of animals in our care. No person was seriously injured during the event.”
