Police say that one person is dead and four injured after the shootings last night at ZombiCon 2015 in Fort Myers, Florida. That’s a bad start to the horror convention season that’ll have us traveling around next weekend. ZombiCon is a really big convention, and it’s too easy to imagine the chaos when real gunfire broke out while a huge crowd of zombies was wandering around the city last night.
In fairness to the zombies, the shooting might have been entirely unrelated to zombie antics–but the setting is still really unfortunate. Especially since it leads to official statements that begin like this…

And, in a little closer to comedy, here’s a bizarre video where Christian street preachers were threatened by a guy while they were testifying to the crowd at last year’s ZombiCon. It’s just kind of weird, but a lot of Florida zombie veterans are complaining that the ZombiCon was kind of waiting for a disaster like this to happen, with the local cops never being much help.
