Milwaukee Bucks May Be Moving To Las Vegas Or Seattle

There are a lot of positive memories for fans in Milwaukee around their Bucks over its long history. However, if Bucks president Peter Feigin is to be believed, the future of basketball in Milwaukee may be in serious jeopardy. The team is looking for $250 million in public financing to build a new arena in downtown Milwaukee and Feigin told Wisconsin lawmakers on Monday that the team will be moved to either Las Vegas or Seattle if the financing isn’t approved according to the Milwaukee Business Journal.

Feigin claims that the NBA will buy the team for a $25 million profit and then move them out west. This would be a big move clearly and who knows what is going to happen here. Obviously, the purchase agreement says that a new arena must begin construction in 2015. There is only six months left in 2015 so that doesn’t leave a lot of time to get started.
It would be a major blow to the folks in Milwaukee if they were to see the Bucks leave especially when they finally seem to be getting on the right track again for the first time in a number of years. Hopefully the lawmakers in Wisconsin will decide that it was best after all to keep the Bucks in Milwaukee for a long time to come.
