Andrea Pirlo Just Made NYCFC The Best Roster In MLS

Andrea Pirlo, the newest member of New York City Football Club (NYCFC), just solidified NYCFC’s roster as the most talented in all of MLS. We’ll see whether or not the man who helped take Juventus to the 2015 UEFA Champions League Final still has any energy left in the tank, but we know that his bank account is still full. The Italian veteran will be making close to $8 million a year. NYCFC now has the most expensive roster in Major League Soccer.
The truth of the matter is that while speed and youth are important in the MLS, the game here in the United States is much slower than in other leagues. That’s why having a free kick specialist like Pirlo will benefit NYCFC greatly.
Check out some of his greatest highlights:

Pirlo will make his debut against Kaka and Orlando City SC on July 26th. Frank Lampard, another massive NYCFC signing, will begin playing July 12th at Yankee Stadium.
Andrea Pirlo made the official announcement today on Twitter. Since you can’t read Italian, you’re just going to have to trust us.
