Jeff Gordon and Brad Keselowski got into an epic brawl shortly after a race at Texas Motor Speedway on Sunday night–which is a reminder that NASCAR has always been a sport where the drivers have always found ways to get into a brawl. It was a fight for the ages, too, and ensures that fans will be tuning in again next week.
This has been something that makes NASCAR look like wrestling. Keselowski drove through a gap he saw and cut Gordon’s tire in the process. This angered Gordon greatly and he stopped his car next to Keselowski’s after the race and went after him. The fight involved several dozen people by the time it was over with and both drivers ended up bloody.
There are just two races left this season and there is no doubt a lot of anger with Gordon towards Keselowski. If another incident happens next week or the following week, the fighting may just ramp up even more than it did Sunday night. It makes for great television–and while NASCAR would likely prefer it to be all about the racing, the fighting will bring a new group of viewers on Sunday. But catch up with it now if you were watching some other violent show last night…
