Meet trigger-happy cop Sean Groubert–who looks like a big Pharrel fan but is, in fact, a South Carolina State Trooper. Your average Pharrell fan would be a better State Trooper than this idiotic 31-year-old, though. This dopey deputy (or whatever) is the rare cop who’s getting arrested for shooting a civilian. That’s because the video from Trooper Groubert’s dashcam is pretty much as incriminating as film footage can get.
Groubert was arrested on Wednesday and is facing 20 years in prison for what seems to be a really good reason. (There were sure enough prior complaints about the guy.) We won’t argue with Groubert pulling over 35-year-old Levar Jones on September 4th at a Circle K gas station in Richland County. We don’t even mind that it was officially over a seatbelt violation. We will, however, get baffled by Groubert then shooting Mr. Jones for what’s really no possible reason.
In fact, Groubert shoots Jones for actually following instructions–and we’re very impressed by how Jones manages to even stay civil after being shot. He asks, “What did I do, sir?” You’d be hearing a lot more bleeping in this video if we were on the other end of Groubert’s incompetence.Check out the video for a perfect example of a cop who shouldn’t even have been allowed to own handcuffs….
