This is Draven Rodriguez–and he’s a student at Schenectady High School who’s fighting to use the above photograph as his official senior picture. Amazingly enough, the dowdy old administration at Schenectady High School is fighting Draven’s noble cause. They say, “Yeah, the picture can be in the yearbook, but it can’t be Draven Rodriguez’s official senior photo because we’re not cool enough to appreciate the importance of laser cats–even if it’s a Maine Coon laser cat!” [photo credit: Vincent Giordano/Trinacria Photo]
We can’t think of a more important national news story. Or at least a nice distraction on a day like today, so let’s join Draven Rodriguez in fighting for his right to be too cool for school. (And let’s get the word out about original photographer Vincent Giordano, too.) Sign his petition here, and expect to hear big things from this kid. Or at least a few Buzzfeed articles in the future. The guy already knows how to work up some real internet hype.
