This "Double Dare" Prize Collection is Your 80s Gift Wish List [VIDEO]

Someone with a lot of episodes of the classic Nickelodeon game show Double Dare (and a lot of time on their hands) spliced together a string of prize announcements in one special video collection.
The video comes courtesy of the retro video geniuses at Everything Is Terrible and all it features is a long loop of the prizes that kids and families from the late 80s could have won if they managed to find the flag in one of the eight obstacles on the Double Dare obstacle course. It’s literally just prize after prize after prize with the show’s longtime announcer John Harvey selling the hell out of each and every one of them. It’s basically just a long list of the stuff you always wanted if you were a child of the 80s and late 90s if you don’t include an original Nintendo, a Super Nintendo, a Sega Genesis or a computer with a decent sized hard drive.

Believe it or not, you can still get some of the crap that Nickelodeon tried to throw at their contestants just for shoving their hands in a giant nose or finding the flag under a large stack of blueberry waffles. We found a bunch of them for sale on eBay. The Lonestar Singalodeon, a dual cassette stereo that lets you sing along to your favorite songs with its own microphone, is on sale at just under $75. There are several Franklin Wordsmith electronic dictionaries but we found a working model on sale for just $4.95. The most hilarious find in the bunch is the Lasonic L30 “portable” stereo on sale for $60. We wouldn’t buy that one for the price. We’d just buy it so we could walk around with it in public and show all these iPod slaves just how much better music sounds when everyone within a 30-mile radius can also hear it.
