There’s big news out of Texas, as a man there claims to have caught a mythical Chupacabra this past Sunday night. Bubba Stock (and you can believe that’s his real name) is a proud resident of the town of Ratcliffe, and claims he captured the mighty Chupacabra (which translates to “goat sucker”) after finding it in a tree. It would be funnier if Bubba had reported going out and finding a Chupacabra in his pajamas, and how it got in his pajamas, he’ll never know.
Anyway, the Chupacabra has been a big buzz monster ever since its first sighting in Puerto Rico back in 1995. Since then, the Chupacabra (man, we hope it’s just one) has been sighted in territories ranging from Mexico to New England. Perhaps it likes antiquing. The important thing is that we might not even have a real Chupacabra here. Remember the recent New Jersey Devil sighting that turned out to be a hairless squirrel from Oklahoma? We have been fooled before. Some people have already speculated that Bubba Stock’s scary Chupacabra might just be a coyote with mange. That’s the skin disease that can make an animal lose its hair and be mistaken for a Jersey Devil or a Chupacabra. The idea of a coyote with mange sounds pretty scary, too, but that might explain why Bubba Stock is still alive. As we understand it, finding a Chupacabra goes more like this…
