This guy must be a real Boy Scout, because we’ve never seen a pedestrian be prepared like this. Patiently wait for it as a security camera slowly reveals the happy ending when a guy walking alongside the road gets hit by a car–and fortunately has his handy mattress ready to help keep him alive. Yes, it’s entirely possible that the car only hit the guy because he was carrying a mattress and might have been obscuring his own view of the traffic. It’s even possible that the mattress was sticking out into the street. But don’t give the guy a hard time, because he was ready with a mattress when a car hit him, and we’ve never thought of that.
