Ithaca College, Sophomore

MY COLLEGE KICKS ASS BECAUSE…

It may be cliché but “Ithaca is Gorges!” I applied to Ithaca College with no intentions on actually attending this school, but the minute I stepped onto Ithaca’s campus I fell in love. The scenery is beautiful, the food is great, and the nightlife is very tailored to college-aged students. Once you’re here, you will realize why Ithaca, NY is ranked among the top college towns in America.

THE COOLEST PLACE TO PARTY ON CAMPUS IS…

Ithaca doesn’t have Greek life. It hasn’t since a hazing incident in the ’80s. Since we are a Greek-free school, most the nightlife happens at the sports houses and at the bars in the Commons. I’d have to say the team that always throws down the best is the football team. If you are looking to come visit Ithaca I’d suggest you come for Cortaca, the biggest small school game around, or join I’m Shmacked and come visit on Kendall Day.

THE MOST MEMORABLE THING I’VE DONE SINCE FRESHMAN YEAR IS…

Being a sophomore, I’ve only had one year of college experiences. My favorite of them so far was competing at NCA College Nationals in Daytona Beach, Florida with my cheerleading team. It was an amazing experience to be on the bandshell competing alongside the top teams in the nation.

I MAJOR IN…

This is going to sound weird, but I’m a double major in politics and chemistry. I have always dreamed of going to law school after I graduate with my B.A. and becoming a corporate lawyer. However, it wasn’t until my senior year of high school that I realized how much I like chemistry. Now I still plan on going to law school but am toying at the idea of going into pharmaceutical or paten law.

OH YEAH, AND YOU SHOULD PROBABLY KNOW THAT…

An interesting fact not many people know about me is that I used to race snowmobiles. I got my first snowmobile at the age of two and started racing them when I was only three years old. I raced snow-cross in the winter and grass-drag in the fall. I raced for 13 years, but eventually had to give it up in high school when academics and extracurricular activities took over my time.

AT SCHOOL, I’M INVOLVED IN…

Being a double major a lot of my time is devoted to classes and studying. I am, however, on the cheerleading team at school. We cheer at all home football and basketball games as well as compete locally and at NCA College Nationals. Besides school and cheer, I donate my time back to the community. I am working towards the President’s Lifetime Achievement Award for community service.

Why do you want to be Miss COED 2016?

Being Miss COED 2016 is more than just the title. I want to be Miss COED 2016 to prove that it is more than looks. I want to show everyone that the underdog can win. I know I’m not the prettiest and I don’t have a perfect body. I have curves, I have flaws. But I want to represent all the other women out there that feel that they’re not pretty enough. I want to prove that it’s what on the inside that counts.
