One month of the 2019-20 NFL regular season is in the books and we are now looking ahead to Week 6 which officially kicks off on Thursday, October 10 with a primetime clash between the New York Giants and New England Patriots on Thursday Night Football.
As the season goes on, the oddsmakers have been handicapping the field and giving us a look at the contenders and pretenders across the league.
The New England Patriots continue to be the heavy favorites to hoist the Lombardi Trophy at the end of the season, while the Kansas City Chiefs follow behind. Rounding out the top five are the New Orleans Saints, Green Bay Packers, and Philadelphia Eagles — all teams with better than 12/1 odds.
Teams like the Dallas Cowboys and Los Angeles Rams, meanwhile, have watched their odds fall after some sputtering on the field near the end of the month.
At the opposite end of the spectrum, the winless Cincinnati Bengals, Miami Dolphins, and Washington Redskins are close to being removed from the board altogether with longshot 2500/1 odds. Without a win soon, all three of those teams could find the teams could find their seasons come to an end.
