It’s finally here! The chart-topping Lil Nas X released the music video for Old Town Road and the cameos do not disappoint.
Appearances in the video include rappers Rico Nasty, Vince Staples, DJ and producer Diplo and comedian Chris Rock.
“Old Town Road,” which has been No. 1 on Billboard’s Hot 100 for six weeks, despite being taken off the country charts. The music video features the Atlanta rapper and country icon Billy Ray Cyrus starring as time-traveling cowboys.
Rock plays a sheriff in 1889, shaking his head while Lil Nas X and Cyrus escape after robbing a bank saying ” “When you see a black man on a horse going that fast, you just gotta let ‘em fly!”
When the pair are cornered in a nearby homestead by a gun-toting owner, Lil Nas X dives into a mineshaft that sends him into 2019.
Lil Nas X rides his horse down a modern street. He gets stares from Rico Nasty and Staples, and later reunites with Cyrus.
Lil Nas X then rides his horse to victory against a car in a street race, then heads to a bingo hall, where him and Cyrus sing while Diplo plays a washboard leading the bingo players to break out into a line dance.

Old Town Road” was a viral hit on the app TikTok and gained traction on Billboard’s Hot 100 when it was removed from the country charts because it did not “embrace enough elements of today’s country music to chart in its current version. Billy Ray subsequently joined Lil Nas X on the remix and as they say the rest is in country history.
The song is projected to be #1 on Billboard’s Hot 100 for the seventh straight week. The next question to ask is can Lil Nas X follow up the success of such a massive hit like Old Town Road. Only time will tell.
