Ariana Grande dropped a new song titled “7 Rings” and a brilliant music video to go along with it. However, it was not without some controversy as multiple artists have come out accusing the artist of stealing their style, lyrics and/or flow.
Among the artists to call out Ariana Grande were rapper Soulja Boy and Princess Nokia.
Princess Nokia accused Grande of ripping off her 2017 song “Mine.”
When you compare the two songs, Nokia may be on to something. She also compares her line “It’s mine, I bought it” to Grande’s “You like my hair? Gee thanks, just bought it.” The similarities have led to some people suggesting Grande is just the latest culture vulture in the music industry.
“Sounds about white,” Nokia said.
The beat has also been compared to Soulja Boy’s hit “Pretty Boy Swag Part 2.” And, quite frankly, the internet is not wrong.
