Kim has held the position of Supreme Leader since his father, Kim Jong-il, passed away in 2011. Kim Jong-un has also been Chairman of the Workers’ Party of Korea since 2012. Kim Jong-un is believed to have been born on either January 8, 1983 or January 8, 1984. Kim was the second of three children Ko Yong-hui bore to Kim Jong-il; his elder brother Kim Jong-chul was born in 1981, while his younger sister, Kim Yo-jong, is believed to have been born in 1987.
According to various reports, Kim went to school near the Swiss city of Bern, the capital of Switzerland.
