A man armed with a machete attacked two soldiers in Brussels earlier on Friday. He was shot and seriously wounded while the two soldiers suffered minor injuries, one to the head while the other walked away with a hand injury. The suspect was rushed to a hospital in critical condition, he has since died as a result of a gunshot wound.

The attack went down on Emile Jacqmain Avenue in the Belgian capital. Police have cordoned off the area. Witnesses claim that the suspect shouted “Allahu Akbar” before the attack. However, prosecutors report that the suspect did not have any known links to terrorist groups.
A spokeswoman for the prosecution service said earlier: “With the identity that we currently have it is a 30-year-old man who is not known for terrorist activities.”
The incident is now being treated as an attempted terror-related murder.

Belgian Prime Minister Charles Michel tweeted: “All our support is with our soldiers. Our security services remain on alert. We are following the situation closely.”
Witness Ryan MacDonald tweeted: “Sound of gunshot, heavy police presence outside on Boulevard Emile Jacqmain, Brussels.”
Hours later, a similar incident occurred outside of Buckingham Palace in London, England. Another suspect attacked a police officer, with a sword.
Three days ago, jihadists called for another car attack, to plow down pedestrians on the Rue Neuve, just meters from where the attempted attack in Brussels took place.
In June, troops took out a suspected suicide bomber in Brussels central train station. The suspect was killed, but there weren’t any other causalities. Authorities reportedly treated that situation as a terrorist incident.
