Wine seems to be as old as time itself. The oldest discovered winery dates all the way back to 4100 BC inside a cave in Vayots Dzor, Armenia. Inside the dwelling, archeologists found a wine press, fermentation vats, jars, cups, V. vinifera seeds and vines.
Cheese is actually even older than wine. The earliest trace of cheese-making goes all the way back to 5,500 BC, in present day Kujawy, Poland, where strainers containing milk fat molecules were discovered. But cheese is suspected to be even older than that. Experts have proposed that cheese-making goes all the way back to 8000 BC, when sheep was first domesticated.
