Even though the Rangers ended the regular season with more points than the Senators, Ottawa will still have home ice advantage in the series. The Senators went 44-28-10, fishing second in the Atlantic Division with 98 points. Ottawa advanced past the Boston Bruins in the first round of the playoffs in a thrilling six game series. Four of the games went into overtime, including a double-overtime battle in Game 5 and the Game 6 clincher.
