One person was killed and two others were wounded during a shooting at the Ficosa plant in Cookeville, Tennessee Tuesday afternoon. Continue reading for the full story.
What Happened?
According to Cookeville police, gunfire broke out around 10:30 A.M. at the manufacturing facility on Highlands Park Boulevard. Police say that the scene is now secure and “there is no danger to the public.”
Fox Nashville reports that the gunman is among the wounded. WKRN’s Chris Bundgaard reports that two females and one male are involved.

One person has died while two others were rushed to local hospitals, according to the Cookeville Police Department. The incident occurred in the parking lot of the plant. Bundgaard reports that two of the victims are in critical condition.
No motive has been made public about the shooting.

Ficosa Plant
Ficosa Plant helps make rearview mirrors and other automotive industry parts. It is located in Cookeville, Tennessee, roughly 80 miles east of Nashville. Cookeville Mayor Ricky Shelton said in a Facebook post, “There has been a shooting at the Ficosa plant. The plant is secure. There is no outside threat. More details when they’re available. Please pray for all those involved!”
The plant opened in October 2016. The Tennessean reported at the time that the plant, which cost $50 million to open, is Ficosa’s “largest and most technologically advanced facility in the U.S.”
