The stars have aligned for us to be treated to a third helping of the best rivalry in college basketball, as #6 North Carolina will take on #14 Duke in the semifinals of the ACC Tournament. Duke took care of business against North Carolina at home, beating the Tar Heels 86-78 on February 9. And North Carolina evened things up on March 4, picking up a 90-83 Senior Night win over the Blue Devils. With the series tied at 1-1, we’re set for one high stakes rubber match.

North Carolina won the regular season ACC crown, posting a gaudy 16-2 record in conference play. Their regular season dominance gave them the #1 seed in the ACC Tournament and a coveted double bye. This favorable seeding helped them waltz into the semifinals, as they only needed to smoke #9 Miami 78-53 in the quarterfinals.
Duke came into the ACC Tournament as the #5 seed, which has made them take a much tougher road to the semifinals. After their first round bye, the Blue Devils beat #12 Clemson 79-72 in the second round and #4 Louisville 81-77 in the quarterfinals.
