Florida High School Student Dies After Being Found Unresponsive on School Bus

A high school student in Florida has passed away. According to the South Florida Sun-Sentinel, a student was found unresponsive on a school bus at McArthur High School in Hollywood, Florida on Wednesday, November 13 at approximately 7:30 a.m. ET.

The student was rushed to the local hospital and administered CPR, but he was unable to survive.

“Unfortunately, the student was later pronounced deceased by hospital staff,” Hollywood Police Department spokesperson Christian Lata told the media. ““At this time there is no indication a crime has occurred.”

The student, whose name has not been released, was reportedly a 14-year-old freshman.

“Let us seriously pray for the parents who suddenly just lost their ONLY child. This is unreal!” one commenter wrote on the Facebook page for the Broward Social Network. “He was the last one on the bus, motionless, unresponsive. The bus driver tried to wake him, and then immediately realized something was very wrong.”

An investigation has been opened into the student’s death.

According to the Sun-Sentinel, “investigators urge anyone with information about the student’s death to contact Hollywood police at 954-764-4357 or 954-967-4411. Tipsters also can email or text [email protected]hollywoodfl.org.” Tipsters can also contact Broward County Crime Stoppers at 954-493-8477 or online at www.browardcrimestoppers.org.
