Joe Burrow was a high school football star and stayed close to home when he committed to play college ball with the Ohio State Buckeyes. Burrow never had the opportunity to shine in Columbus, but now that he has fully lived up to his potential as quarterback of the top-ranked LSU football program, the people in Ohio are happy to see him blossom into the player they knew he could be all along.
In a video released by the LSU Tigers, those who have come across Burrow during his rise to stardom shared their memories of Burrow on the field.
The video includes interviews with former teammates coaches and family members who recall Burrow as a high school athlete. And according to them, not much has changed for the star signal-caller outside of his jersey.
Burrow is currently the odds-on favorite to bring home the Heisman Trophy, and LSU is honoring that with a tribute video to his Heisman Campaign.

“If there was any doubt about Burrow’s status as the favorite going into last weekend, it was laid to rest on Saturday. The Tigers’ star QB threw for 393 yards and three TDs in LSU’s win over Bama, its first over the Tide since 2011. Burrow, who was carried off the field on his teammates’ shoulders, also rushed for 64 yards,” an ESPN article read.
It is great to see Burrow have his time to shine.
Up next for the top-ranked Tigers and Heisman frontrunner is a meeting with the Ole Miss Rebels on Saturday, November 16. Kickoff at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium is set for 7:00 p.m. ET on ESPN.
