A dream match is when two popular teams or individuals are battling it out in a mega event. The UFC is known for putting on some of the best dream matches ever. The UFC has had such a diverse amount of talent that the possibilities are endless on the type of events that can be put on, At one point, BJ Penn vs. George St Pierre was a match that fans wanted to see and when it happened it did not disappoint. The UFC has had some potential events that it could have put on, but due timing and not getting both fighters to agree, it just did not happen. Sometimes certain rematches did not get to happen because fighters have left for another promotion or retired. Let’s look at some matches that fans will never get to see.
5. George St-Pierre vs. Khabib Nurmagomedov

Khabib Nurmagomedov has come out and said that he would like to face George St Pierre after his win against Mcgregor. St Pierre took some time away from the sport in 2013 after his fight against Johnny Hendricks at UFC 167. St. Pierre would come back in 2017 to face Micheal Bisping for the Middleweight title, a match where GSP would win. After that win, St.Pierre would vacate the title and deal with an injury; eventually, he would retire. So the fight was in the works; it just never could get done.

The UFC had purchased PRIDE back in 2007, and that would mean that a lot of talent from PRIDE would eventually come and compete for the UFC. With PRIDE being purchased, the sky was the limit for some exciting matchups. Couture was one the UFC’s workhorses, a man who would never back down from a fight. Emelianenko wanted to compete in the UFC and was looking to make a significant impact on the heavyweight division, but his management could not come to terms with UFC management on a deal. If the deal worked out, this fight would have happened mainly since they were both featured in the EA Sports MMA Game.
3. Jon Jones vs. Brock Lesnar

The timing was just off for this one, the UFC could never get this one to happen. While Jones was rising through the ranks of the division, Lesnar was recovering from an injury he had sustained. When Lesnar was ready to compete, Jones had been serving a suspension for personal things. So when Jones came back, Lesnar had already left for the WWE.
2. Ronda Rousey vs. Cris Cyborg

The two most dominant women in all of the combat sports at one point in time in the octagon together. That would have been a scary sight to see but would have brought in a reasonable amount of money. Cris Cyborg had been said to make the jump to the UFC and what better opponent for her to face than Rousey
1. Anderson Silva vs. George St- Pierre

When you think about two of the most popular and dominant fighters in all of the UFC, you have to talk about GSP and Anderson Silva. Both fighters were kings of their respective divisions, and there has been talk about the two going toe-toe. The problem was that the two could not find common ground on what division to fight in. At one point in time, there was a debate on who was pound for pound the greatest fighter. If this fight had happened then that dispute would have been solved.
