15-Year-Old YouTuber Haley Morales Blamed After Fan Reportedly Attempts Suicide

A young Haley Morales superfan has reportedly committed suicide. The story began surfacing on social media and immediately created a firestorm of drama. Some people online are blaming Morales for the fan’s death after messages surfaced showing Morales talking poorly about the fan.

There are also reports that the fan took to Instagram while she was in the hospital to say it was Haley’s fault.

Since the drama began swirling online and as the blame continued to be directed at Haley, she took to her official Twitter account to comment on the situation.

“firstly, i’m truly sorry to anyone i’ve hurt. but i’m not going to sit here and be blamed for someone’s mental health. suicide is not something that usually pops up when you get hate, plenty of other issues caused this. not just me. i may have been a trigger and for that,” she wrote on Twitter. “i am extremely sorry beyond words. i’m in my bed sobbing for you. i’ve been where you have. but you can never fully blame someone for a death dealing with mental health. ill admit i’ve done it in the past and it was wrong of me. never let someone have that much control over you.

“and i’m sending prayers to you, i love you and never meant to hurt ANYONE. i confided in that person, trusting fans when i shouldn’t have been so gullible. i never had anything against you thought it may had seemed like it. i was in a way led on to say those things but this is not an excuse. i’m deeply sorry for what has happened.”

Haley previously attempted her own suicide in early July.

Mental health is a serious issue and attacking Haley because of someone else’s suicide attempt is not the proper way to handle things. Hopefully everyone will be able to come away stronger and more understanding of the seriousness of depression and other mental issues.

If you or someone you know is struggling with thoughts of suicide, you can call the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 1-800-273-8255.
