WATCH: Stephen A. Smith Has Epic Meltdown Over the Knicks’ Free Agency Failures

Stephen A. Smith was hoping for some big moves from the New York Knicks entering NBA free agency. But once James Dolan’s team struck out on the major stars — again — the ESPN analyst had an epic meltdown over the continued failures of what was once one of the league’s most prestigious teams.

The Knicks had high hopes of landing Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving. Instead, the two all-stars decided to take their talents away from Manhattan and to another New York City borough by joining the Brooklyn Nets.

Durant and Irving even went as far as to take less than a max contract in order for the team to add all-star big man DeAndre Jordan.

In addition, the Knicks never even had a shot at the likes of Klay Thompson and Jimmy Butler.

Stephen A. was livid.

When the news was public, Stephen A. could not hold back and he went on an epic rant to express his continued frustration with the franchise that can no longer lure any top free agents despite playing in the biggest media market and at the World’s Most Famous Arena, Madison Square Garden.

“Need a few minutes to gather my composure. Some how, some way, I’m just trying to hold it together, you know. Lifelong Knick fan. Years of mediocrity. I thought this was going to be it, at least weeks ago,” Stephen A. said.

“…. $70 million dollars in cap space. Porzingis gone. Porzingis can’t be gone, and we don’t get KD, and we don’t get Kyrie. No way! This can’t happen! This can’t happen! But it happened. The New York Knicks, with KD on the market, Kyrie on the market, Klay, Kemba, Jimmy Butler. They can’t get someone to come to Madison Square Garden.”

The Knicks eventually settled for Julius Randle, Taj Gibson, and Bobby Porter.

Don’t worry, Stephen A., Knicks fans are feeling your pain.
