Whether you love him or hate him, there’s one thing about Conor McGregor that cannot be denied: the man loves Ireland and its people.
And despite his recent comeuppance to becoming one of the most recognizable athletes in the world, McGregor has not forgotten his roots, as he spends much of his time in the Irish capital.
Now, the 30-year-old is using his north of $100 million net worth to give back to the city that raised him, as he recently announced on Instagram that he has funded the construction of eight, three-bedroom homes for homeless families in Dublin.
“Back on the site today, it has been a while. This is my first property development. We have 8 homes here closing in on finish,” McGregor explains.
“3 bedroom houses, designated for families that currently reside in hotels around the capital, without a home to call their own. But not for long. Through the storm comes the sun!” he continues.

“Walking around this land and these homes today, meeting all the neighbors, knowing that soon there will be families living here, creating their own memories, and building back their lives, gives me great pride! Ireland forever! Ireland first! Ireland always!” the former UFC featherweight and lightweight champion concluded.
As for when the homes will be completed and ready for us, McGregor did not specify.
But whenever that may be, let’s all hope that McGregor’s return to the Octagon happens sooner than that, as it would be a real shame to have his final fight in the UFC end in embarrassing defeat.
