Update: The official death toll has risen to 41 people.
Reports out of Moscow indicate that a plane owned Russian national carrier Aeroflot has landed at the Sheremetyevo airport while on fire.
Initial unconfirmed reports indicate that at least 13 people have been killed and five people aboard the flight have been injured. While initial reports indicated one death, the death total has since spiked to 13 people.
The plane, which was carrying a reported total of 78 passengers, caught on fire after it was struck by lightning, according to reports from ABC 7.
At this time, reports indicate that at least 13 people have died. Two of the deceased have been confirmed to be children.
Photos and videos from the scene that have been posted on social media show the plane being almost entirely engulfed in flames.
Police or Russian officials have yet to provide any further information.
