John T. Earnest is the 19-year-old white male who has been arrested for his role in today’s Chabad Synagogue shooting that resulted in the death of one female and left at least four others injured.
At this time, reports state that Earnest is a white American male.
Additionally, in a self-published manifesto written prior to the attack, Earnest described himself as having “European ancestry” and the “blood that ran through the English, Nordic, and Irish men of old.”
“My name is John Earnest and I am a man of European ancestry. The blood that runs in my veins is the same that ran through the English, Nordic, and Irish men of old. I am a descendant of one of the original colonists of Roanoke—John Earnest,” Earnest wrote.
“Truly, I am blessed by God for such a magnificent bloodline,” Earnest concludes.

The shooting at the Chabad Synagogue in Poway, California, reportedly began to unfold at 11:23 a.m.
As a result of the shooting, one woman has died and four people are currently being treated for their injuries and are in critical condition.
The victims have been identified as Rabbi Yisorel Goldstein, an adult male, a child, and a woman, who has died. Rabbi Goldstein founded the Chabad of Poway Synagogue center in the year 1986.
Earnest, who armed with an “AR-style rifle” and was wearing a tactical helmet and a tactical vest, has been arrested by authorities.
The Mayor of Poway says those in the congregation “engaged” the shooter and prevented further casualties.
