Miss Bolivia Joyce Prado Stripped Of Her Title For Getting Pregnant

Joyce Prado, a 22-year-old model who was recently named Miss Bolivia Universe, has been stripped of her title just a few months into her reign after announcing that she was pregnant.

Promotions Gloria, the modeling agency that runs the Miss Bolivia contest, said that Prado lost her title due to “breach of contract.”

Prado had represented the nation as Miss Bolivia at the 2018 Miss Universe competition in Thailand. Miss Universe was eventually awarded to 25-year-old model Catriona Gray, who was representing the Philippines.

Following the news of Prado’s pregnancy, Promotions Gloria, who was run the Miss Bolivia competition since the year 1985, released a full statement in an effort to explain their decision.

“The reasons [for Prado being stripped of her title] are strictly related to the breach of contract, leaving on record that we maintain cordial relations in a field of mutual understanding, safeguarding the confidentiality clause,” the statement read, according to Daily Mail.

However, the 22-year-old model seemed unbothered as she confirmed her pregnancy and marriage to Paraguayan model Rodrigo Giménez on Instagram.

At this time, it is unclear whether Promotions Gloria will name an immediate successor of the Miss Bolivia crown or just wait until next year’s competition.
