Brandon Walker, or @BWalker_SEC on Twitter, is a sports gambling analyst who currently works for Barstool Sports. Walker joined Barstool Sports on Wednesday, April 10, following a public Twitter feud with his former employer, MyBookie, an offshore sports gambling website.
He currently hosts “Walk the Line with Brandon Walker” for Barstool Sports. In addition to his work with Barstool Sports and MyBookie, Walker operates the Facebook page The More Cowbell Show, which is a show about Mississippi State University sports.
Walker’s jump from MyBookie.ag to Barstool Sports came after a Twitter account ran by MyBookie called out the legitimacy of Dave Portnoy’s gambling habits.
In a since-deleted Tweet, MyBookie tweeted that Portnoy, the founder of Barstool Sports, was “all talk and no follow through” in regards to placing large wagers.
After noticing the tweets from MyBookie, Portnoy began a personal crusade to ruin the reputation of MyBookie by publicizing complaints from the site’s customers on Twitter.
Following his jump from MyBookie.ag to Barstool Sports, Walker saw a significant increase in his online profile, as he went from broadcasting his Periscope show to a couple of dozen fans to over 7,000 fans.
In addition to the loss of Walker’s services, MyBookie also lost the endorsement of Pat McAfee, a former punter for the Indianapolis Colts and Barstool Sports employee who was doing previous promotional work for the company.
“In light of recent events between @stoolpresidente and @betmybookie, I am suspending all ads with them indefinitely. I was not aware of any problems with their treatment of sports gamblers. We’re gonna investigate & figure out the next steps. I don’t enjoy the thought of letting,” the ex-NFL player said in a tweeted statement.
While the nature of Walker’s employment with Barstool Sports is currently unclear, it’s safe to assume that he won’t be heading back to MyBookie anytime soon.
