Kevin Reese Jr., a 10-year-old Texas boy who took his own life on Monday, January 21, allegedly killed himself due to the bullying he received from fellow students.
Reese Jr., a fifth-grade student in Texas, was told to “kill yourself” by another Robinson Elementary School child, according to his mother Crystal Smith.
Reese Jr, who was found hanging from his closet on January 21 by his 13-year-old sister, was reportedly being bullied since November.
“They wrote on his tablet to ‘Kill yourself, you don’t belong here’. When it got physical back in November, he came home crying because he didn’t fight back and one of the boys punched him several times coming from recess,” Smith told KTRK.
Smith that she has not touched anything and that Kevin’s room is exactly how he left it.
“This is his book bag from that day, that’s his homework, his ID, he has it attached to his backpack. I just want to find the answer, what happened that day, what was going through his mind,” Reese’s mother said.
Reese Jr. is tragically just the latest in a string of teenagers who have taken their own lives due to bullying in recent years.
