Texas Authorities Release Composite Sketch Of Man Wanted In Jazmine Barnes Killing

Texas authorities have released a composite sketch of the man wanted in the senseless shooting death of 7-year-old Jazmine Barnes. The sketch was compiled from descriptions given by Jazmine’s mother, LaPorsha Washington, and her three sisters, who were also in the car at the time of the shooting.
Additionally, the suspect has been described by police as a thin white man in his 30s or 40s, wearing a black hoodie, with pale skin, blue eyes, and a 5-o’clock shadow beard.
Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez has asked that anyone who believes they have information that could lead to the identification or the arrest of the suspect to call the Harris County Sheriff’s Office at 713-221-6000.


What Happened To Jazmine Barnes?

According to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, on the morning of Sunday, December 30, the suspect reportedly pulled up beside a car that was occupied by 7-year-old Jazmine Barnes in a red pickup truck and began open firing without provocation.
The truck was occupied by Barnes, her three sisters, and her mother, LaPorsha Washington. Barnes was struck in the head by one of the suspect’s gunshots and killed. Additionally, Washington was shot in the arm and Barnes’ 6-year-old sister was injured by shattered glass.
GoFundMe created in Barnes’ memory has since raised over $58,000 at the time of this writing.

At this time, the man wanted for the murder of 7-year-old Jazmine Barnes has not been identified.
Officials with the Harris County Sheriff’s Office have described the suspect as being a thin white man in his 30s or 40s, with pale skin, blue eyes, and a 5-o’clock shadow beard and was wearing a black hoodie at the time of the shooting.
The Harris County Sheriff’s Office released a sketch of the suspect on Thursday, January 3.
