Stephanie Sebby-Strempel, a 38-year-old South Carolina woman, has pled guilty after she was recorded assaulting a 15-year-old black teenager at a public swimming pool.
According to reports, Sebby-Strempel, 38, pled guilty on Monday, December 10, to charges stemming from the assault that happened in June 2018.
The assault, which was recorded on a cell phone, happened at the Reminisce community pool in Dorchester County, South Carolina.
In the incident report, the teenage victim said that Strempel told he and his friends that they “did not belong there and they had to leave.”
While the victim says that he and his friends were “respectful and said, yes ma’am,” Strempel began calling the victim and his friends, “punks,” and using “racial slurs” anyway.
Police were eventually called and arrested Strempel. Following her arrest in June, Strempel’s bond court hearing was set for $65,000 total surety bond.
A court affidavit showed that Sebby-Strempel entered a guilty plea and was handed down a $1,000 fine at a hearing on Monday that she did not attend.

Detectives with the Dorchester County Sheriff’s Office later obtained a warrant for Sebby-Strempel’s arrest. When they arrived at her home, she physically resisted – pushed one detective into a wall and bit a second on the arm, breaking the skin.
An affidavit on Monday revealed Sebby-Strempel entered a guilty plea and was handed down a $1,000 fine. The family of the victim, who was at Monday’s hearing, told News 2 they felt the punishment was fair but did not provide any further comment.
Sebby-Stempel was not at Monday’s hearing. Her attorney said the other charges, possibly in relation to the assault on the officers, was dismissed.
The teen’s mother, Deanna RocQuemore, praised her son’s attitude, saying her he “did the right thing regardless of what may have been verbally said by anyone else.”
At the time the incident went viral, Stephanie was dubbed “Pool Party Paula” on social media.
