Khabib’s father Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov has taken to Instagram (the fact that Khabib’s elderly Dagestani father is on Instagram blows my mind, but I digress) to forgive Conor McGregor, despite what the brash Irishman said about his son’s family, religion, and country.
In the first photo, which was uploaded the day after Khabib’s UFC 229 victory, Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov said “what a big difference between what he said and happened”:

Then in a second photo, which was uploaded on Tuesday, October 9, Abdulmanap said he forgives McGregor, saying it is “all in the past”:
“Assalamualeikum all. I forgive Conor McGregor, all in the past. It is necessary to make an analysis of everything that happened and learn lessons. After talking with aksakals and wise countrymen, they decided to move to other heights. I hope this is a blessing. Ying Sha Allag.”

Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov has a reputation of being a very respectful yet very serious man, as Khabib himself said that his father was going to “smash him” when gets home for his post-fight actions at UFC 229:
“I know my father gonna smash me when I go home because… I know he gonna smash me,” Khabib said at the UFC 229 postfight press conference.
Despite the ass-kicking he received from Khabib, McGregor’s coach John Kavanagh said on Joe Rogan’s podcast that the former two-division champion was “screaming and shouting” for a rematch “within minutes”.
Given that Khabib’s father has put McGregor’s antics in the past, maybe the lead-up up to Khabib vs McGregor 2 will be a little more respectful.
Maybe.
