After years of delays, Lil Wayne’s Tha Carter V finally has a release date. The album, which was is Lil Wayne’s twelfth studio album, will be released on Friday, September 28, at 12 a.m. EST.
Due to legal disputes with Birdman and his former label Cash Money Records, the album has experienced years of delays.
On June 7, 2018, — six years after the album was announced — Lil Wayne’s representatives confirmed the ‘Lollipop’ rapper had finally been released from his contract with Cash Money Records, therefore allowing him to release the album.
In 2012, Lil Wayne initially stated that Tha Carter V would be his final album.
Tha Carter V includes features from some of the biggest names in music, including Drake, Kendrick Lamar, Justin Timberlake, Justin Bieber, Nicki Minaj, and more.
